During excavations in the ancient city of Ur in the 1920s and 30s, archaeologist Sir Leonard Woolley uncovered what may be the world’s oldest documented customer complaint. The clay tablet, dated to 1750 BC, records a message from a dissatisfied buyer named Nanni to a copper merchant named Ea-nasir.
